Hourglass

View text

The Hourglass is a true engineering feat. Made in Basel, Switzerland, it is blown from a single piece of borosilicate glass and contains millions of nano spheres made of stainless steel. Each sphere is precisely 0.6 mm in diameter and coated with fine gold and silver. This colour plating process requires extreme care and can only be completed in small batches. When the Hourglass is inverted, the precision balls fall and bounce in an unstructured, but truly mesmeric way.

The Hourglass is manufactured in 10, 30, or 60 minute times. For more information contact HG-Timepiece

In 2024, a new size and colour of the Hourglass was introduced: a 20-minute edition filled with rose gold-coloured nanoballs. This edition is available exclusively through Gagosian Shop.
