Atmos Tellurium
View textDesigned in collaboration with Jaeger-LeCoultre, the Atmos Tellurium reimagines one of the Maison's most technically accomplished clocks through Marc Newson's distinctive design approach.
Inspired by the beauty of the cosmos, Newson created a perfectly spherical glass cabinet engraved with the 64 constellations visible from the Northern Hemisphere and set with 539 sapphires representing the principal stars. The project demanded extensive research and development to achieve the illusion that each gemstone is suspended within the glass.
The design also extends to the movement itself. Working closely with Jaeger-LeCoultre's engineers, Newson refined key elements of the mechanism while preserving the delicate balance required for the Atmos to function. Powered solely by subtle changes in ambient temperature, the clock requires neither batteries nor winding, accurately reproducing the movements of the Earth, Moon and Sun, along with the seasons and lunar phases.
Produced in a limited edition of three pieces, the Atmos Tellurium brings together advanced watchmaking, scientific precision and sculptural design in a singular mechanical object.
