Conceived at the same time as the original non-glass pieces, Marc decided that he would make a glass-topped version which would be more practical for everyday use.  Named ‘Chop Top’ in reference to the term used to describe cars transformed into convertibles by sawing the tops off, they provided not only more durable and usable surfaces, but they also allowed the insides of the pieces to be seen.
