Lunar Rock and Book Enclosure
View textMarc designed the Lunar Rock edition for Taschen’s re-release of Norman Mailer’s seminal tale of the Apollo II story. Each of the 12 copies, numbered 1958 through to 1969, came with a specimen of lunar rock ranging in weight from 0.4 grams to 30.34 grams.
The “module” that holds the book accurately represents a precise area of the Moon's surface whilst a domed case inspired by a scientific specimen container, houses the twelve lunar rocks, providing protection from oxidation and showcasing the specimen, allowing it to be admired from all angles.
