Sukeban is a new Japanese female pro-wrestling league which hosted its inaugural fight in New York in September 2023. The competition has brought together a constellation of creatives from around the world, including creative director Olympia Le-Tan, animator Silas Hickey and milliner Stephen Jones. Marc was tapped to design the championship belt, and he used cloisonné for the central plate to capture renowned Japanese artist Ayako Ishiguro’s illustration. The concave plate was produced at the same cloisonné factory as Marc’s Gagosian furniture series, and was mounted onto shagreen at the Maison Hamon atelier in Paris.
