Marc Newson by Tefal kitchenware paired ergonomic melamine handles with stainless-steel and aluminium cooking surfaces. The range included frying pan, casserole, saucepan, and accessories. The red dot on the handles was conceived as a subliminal detail to remind the user not to touch the handle too close to the pan. Marc also wanted to create a handle that was integral to the pan, and so the metal handle is integrated into the melamine. This reduced the likelihood for the handles to loosen over time, and it removed visible joins.
